Mauritius is a nice place to be in. Tourists will enjoy their stay. The island has much to offer in terms of scenic beauty. There are several spots that a person can visit. Let us have look at these spots, where one can spend their holidays in a memorable manner.
The Northern part of Mauritius
Grand Bay: This place is meant for leisure activities and to enjoy shopping. One can also have a lots of fun during the nights. There are lots of restaurants, bars and pubs where one could relax. Le Covette beaches are fantastic places to visit.
Pereybere: There are ample opportunities for visiting the pub, shopping and spending time at the bars.
The Triolet Shivala: This happens to be the longest village located on the island. One can visit the biggest Hindu temple.
The Labourdonnais Orchards: Here one comes across lots of tropical trees and very exotic and colorful flowers. One can go in for mountain biking.
Balaclava ruins: These are situated a few meters away from popular Baie aux Tortues. Visitors are able to see the sea walls.
Cap Malheurex: Large number of fishermen live here and there is red roofed church also which opens into the northern part of the island.
The Eastern Part of Mauritius
Belle Mare Beach: There are several public beaches here. The water is very warm and one comes across several hotels as well.
Flacq Market: This is a very important village in Mauritius. It has the largest market which is open air.
Il Aux Cerfs: This happens to be a fantastic spot for water sports. It has the most fantastic and beautiful beach.
The South East
Dutch Ruins: One comes across the ruins of Dutch settlers at Vieux Grand Port, which happens to be oldest settlement in Mauritius.
Mahebourg: This is main fishing village situated in Mauritius. It is built on the fantastic Grand Port Bay and was founded by French Governor, Charles Decaen in 1804.
Souillac: This happens to be resort located on the seaside along the coast of the district of Savanne.
Domaine du Chasseur: This is situated in the Anse Jonchee hills. It consists of very good hunting grounds. One comes across boars, monkeys and stags. There is lot of vegetation as well.
La Vanille Reserve des Mascareignes: One comes across giant tortoises and Nile crocodiles. There is a variety of flora and fauna.
Ile auz Airgretts: Rare birds and endangered species can be seen here.
The Western part of Mauritius
Martello Towers: This place represents the power struggle between old colonial rule and the present manifestations of mankind.
Salt Pans: It receives a lot of sunshine. Salt is produced here.
Yemen: It perhaps is not the biggest game reserve, but there is lot to see.
Chamarel: It is fantastic landscape of different hues and colors. This is due to the erosion of the volcanic ashes.
Dolphins: One come across dolphins here.
Inland part of Mauritius
L’Aventure de Sucre: One comes across interesting aspects of history of the island.
Tea Route and Boi Cheri: One comes across everything traditional. You can see a lot of colonial houses. One can visit the tea factory at Boi Cheri and the museum. There are several green houses and vanilla plantations.
Black River Gorges: This happens to be a national park, consisting of 6,574 hectares and was set up in 1994. There are superb landscapes.
Eureka: This is a pretty old creole place of residence, built in 1830.
Mauritius has much to offer for a tourist. He or she can spend precious moments in several places enjoying and relishing every moment of the stay.
