No doubt, they do enjoy sightseeing the various historical monuments and places, but at the same time they would like to take part in various adventure sports that the country has to offer.</p>
<p>From historical times, kings and other important dignitaries took part in various adventure sports and the tradition carries on even now. Of course, certain sports like killing tigers and rare birds is not permissible under law, but that does not mean that the tourists lack other avenues of adventure.</p>
<p><b>What adventure sports India has to offer?</b></p>
<ul>
<li><b>Mountain Trekking</b> &#8211; The Great Himalayan range and other mountain  ranges in India have much to offer in terms of trekking. One can enjoy the scenery and the serenity of the mountains . The Gharwal Hills are quite an attraction. The Gharwal as well as the Kumoan region are known for their natural vegetation and scenic beauty. One can undertake trekking expeditions in Himachal, Nilgiris, the Western Ghats. Tailor made trekking is also possible.  One of the challenging treks is in the Himalayan range. This mighty mountain range provides all the excitement one wants.</li>
<li><b>Sports Fishing</b> &#8211; Fishing in the coastal areas of India can be quite exciting. India has a coastline of  over 3000km. and around 55,000km of streams, lakes, rivers, tributaries as well as reservoirs. Even the major rivers such as the Ganges, Mahanadi, Kaveri, Yamuna, Brahmaputra, Sutlej and Teseta. A wide range of fishes are available such as Golden Mahseer, Silver Gray Mahseer, Silver Mahseer, Black Mahseer, Trout, Katli, Rohu and Brown Trout can be found in these rivers. The Government of India has set up fish sanctuaries and hatcheries. Every fish has its own breeding season and traits. One can fish throughout the year. In the Himalayas, the best season to fish is from October to November and from April to September.</li>
<li><b>Wildlife Safari</b> &#8211; India has much to offer in terms of natural habitats, where animals thrive. Much effort is on by environmentalists to preserve forests. Although now hunting is not permissible, one can see the animals in their natural habitats. The sight of a  Tiger near your vehicle can make your spine chill. One can come across wild elephants, the cheetah, the mountain goat in Ladakh. The well known Corbett national Park is there for you to enjoy a wild safari. Then there is the Kaziranga National Park, Ranthambore National Park, Kanha National Park, Rajajai National Park and many more. Tourists find these safaris very adventuresome.</li>
<li><b>Skiing</b> &#8211; One can come across the best ski locales in Kumaon Hills, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir as well as northeastern parts of India. Auli in Garhwal, Valley of Flowers, Gulmarg etc are some of the fascinating places to ski. Modern facilities are provided for to facilitate skiing in Gulmarg. Manali in Himachal Pradesh is another exciting place to ski. From March onwards through July one  can ski in Marhi, Gulaba or Rohtang.</li>
<li><b>Desert Safari</b> &#8211; One can undertake a desert safari in the Thar desert. It is fun riding a camel, and watching various folk dances. The sand dunes are simply gorgeous. In the evening, the sunset sets the sand on fire.</li>
<li><b>Rafting and Kayaking</b> &#8211; This popular adventure sport is possible in the Ganges river(Rishikesh),Beas (Kullu) and  Indus (Leh).</li>
<li><b>Paragliding and  Hang-gliding</b> &#8211; Kamshet in Maharashtra is 12 kms in distance  from Lonavala  and Khandala. It is accessible by both train and road from Mumbai. Other places where this sport is possible is the Himalayas, like the Kangra valley in Himachal Pradesh. Billing ( Bir) in Himachal Pradesh is rated high in the world for paragliding. Bir is 270 km from Delhi. Another popular place is Solang Nala (Manali) located in the Kullu valley.</li>
<li><b>Rock climbing</b> &#8211; The Manali valley situated in Himachal Pradesh is a fine place for rock climbing. This sport can physically exhaust you. One must try to follow the toughest route in the minimum possible time.</li>
<li><b>Rafting</b> &#8211; One can go rafting in several rivers in India.</li>
<li><b>Cycling</b> &#8211; One enjoys cycling through various parts of the country. It is fun to meet people of different states and exchange ideas with them and also get to know their culture.</li>
</ul>
